The better the conductivity of the measured medium or the larger the dielectric constant, the better the reflection effect of the echo signal.

  Therefore, the radar level meter uses the special properties of electromagnetic waves to detect the material level. The transmitting antenna transmits microwaves to the target to be measured, and the microwaves of the target to be measured are received by the receiving antenna. The signal processor compares the transmitted signal with the received signal and calculates the measured distance.   The received echo energy is related to the transmitting and receiving efficiency of the antenna and the antenna radiation power, so the antenna design and shape of the radar level meter are critical. In addition to the horn antenna (horn mouth) and rod antenna, the existing antennas also have plane antennas and parabolic antennas. For materials with a small dielectric constant, the cable is used as an antenna or a waveguide is installed. The cable and waveguide extend to the bottom of the warehouse or warehouse, thereby transmitting the electromagnetic waves sent and received, and enhancing the echo signal. The received echo energy is related to the dielectric properties of the material surface. If the dielectric constant ε is low, the material will absorb part of the microwave energy, and the echo intensity is also low; if the dielectric constant ε is high, the reflectivity is high, and the echo intensity is also high. The dielectric constant ε of the material to be measured is usually required: cement plant solid ε>2.5, cement dielectric constant ε is 3, liquid is ε>1.8, solid ε>2.5.
