What are the effects of different working conditions on radar level meter

Ordinary radar for non-contact measurement, guided wave radar for contact measurement, which means that the guided wave radar more need to take into account the corrosion and adhesion of the medium, and too long guided wave radar installation and maintenance is more difficult.

Ordinary radar level gauges can be used interchangeably, but guided wave radars cannot be used interchangeably because the length of the waveguide rod (cable) is fixed according to the original working conditions. As a result, the selection of guided wave radars is more complicated than that of ordinary radars. When measuring solid materials, guided wave radars must also consider the stress of the waveguide rod (cable). Also due to the stress, the measurement distance of guided wave radars is generally not very long, while ordinary radars are commonly used on tanks of 30 or 40 meters, and can even measure up to 60 meters.

However, guided wave radar has obvious advantages under some special working conditions, such as stirring in the tank and large medium fluctuations. Under such working conditions, the measurement value of the guided wave radar with a fixed bottom is more stable than that of the flexible radar; there is also level measurement in small tanks. Due to the small installation and measurement space (or there are many interferences in the tank), ordinary radar is not applicable. At this time, the advantages of guided wave radar are revealed; another is the working condition of low dielectric constant. Whether radar or guided wave radar, the measurement principle is based on the difference in dielectric constant of the medium. Since the waves emitted by ordinary radar are divergent, when the dielectric constant of the medium is too low, the signal is too weak and the measurement is unstable. The guided wave radar wave propagates along the waveguide rod and the signal is relatively stable. In addition, general guided wave radars also have bottom detection function, which can be corrected according to the measured value of the bottom echo signal to make the signal more stable and accurate.
