Radar level meter working conditions selection what to pay attention to the problem

2024-12-19

Radar level gauges have the characteristics of low maintenance, good performance, high accuracy, high reliability and long service life.

The physical and chemical properties of media such as water vapor, foam, corrosive volatility affect the measurement of liquid level, which is affected by various external conditions such as container shape, size, diameter, material, etc.

  1. Installation requirements and selection of common container radar level gauges: For open pools, tanks, and natural waters, the radar used is not very effective. All three are useful. For closed containers, the DN40 pipe connection can be installed on a smaller guided wave radar level gauge. The low-frequency horn is smaller and can be installed on a DN50 pipe connection. The prerequisite is no stirring, no vaporization, and vacuum. If the above conditions exist, the high-frequency radar is smaller and a DN100 flange should be selected for installation, and the low-frequency radar should be installed with a DN150 flange.

  2. Selection and precautions of radar level gauge in corrosive liquid: The flange and cable of the waveguide level gauge are preset to 304ss material. 316L material can be selected for general corrosive liquids, and polytetrafluoroethylene can be selected for strong corrosive liquids such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. The low-frequency bell mouth and bell mouth are defaulted to 304ss material. 316L material can be selected for general corrosive liquids. Spraying polytetrafluoroethylene material should be used for strong corrosive liquids such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. The flange and bell mouth of the high-frequency bell mouth radar are preset to 304ss material. 316L material can be selected for general corrosive liquids. Spraying polytetrafluoroethylene material should be used for strong corrosive liquids such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. When encountering strongly corrosive liquids such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, low-frequency rod radar and high-frequency strip radar are more suitable. Both are designed for use in strong corrosive environments. It should be noted that the blind area of the low-frequency strip radar is relatively large, with 0.5-0.7 meters, which is not suitable for small cans.

  3. Selection and precautions of radar level gauge in foaming liquid. If the foam on the liquid surface is less than 2 cm, it will have little effect on the measurement. If the foam exceeds 2 cm, pay attention to the thickness and size of the foam. For foam larger than 2 cm, larger foam is less likely to be penetrated by radar electromagnetic waves. When the thickness is the same, the thicker the foam, the less likely it is to penetrate. In this case, it is more suitable to choose a low-frequency horn radar than a high-frequency horn radar. If it is non-bonded foam, a guided wave level can easily penetrate the foam and accurately measure the liquid level under the foam.

  4. Selection and precautions of radar level gauge in steam environment In steam environment, it has little effect on the broadcast radar. It has little effect on low-frequency horn radar and no effect on high-frequency horn radar.
