Gas turbine flowmeters are a type of turbine flowmeter. Among all flowmeters, turbine flowmeters, volumetric flowmeters and Coriolis mass flowmeters are the three main types of flowmeters with the best repeatability and accuracy.


Gas turbine flowmeter is a new type of flowmeter which integrates flow rate, temperature and pressure detection functions, and is capable of automatic temperature and pressure compensation. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, electric power, metallurgy, industrial boiler and other industries for the measurement of natural gas, gas, coal gas, liquefied gas and other gases. Gas turbine flowmeter has the advantages of small pressure loss, high accuracy, good repeatability, wide range ratio and so on.

The working principle of gas turbine flowmeter: when the fluid into the flowmeter, first through the independent movement of the leading structure and accelerate, under the action of the fluid, due to the turbine blade and the fluid flow into a certain angle, the turbine generates a rotating torque, the turbine to overcome the resistance torque and friction torque began to rotate. When the moments reach equilibrium, the rotational speed is stabilized, the turbine rotational speed is linearly related to the flow rate, and the magnetic resistance of the sensor is periodically changed by the magnetism on the rotating transmitting disk, thus sensing a pulse signal whose frequency is proportional to the volume flow rate of the fluid at both ends of the sensor.

The signal is amplified by the preamplifier, after shaping and pressure and temperature sensors detected pressure, temperature signals are simultaneously transmitted to the flow totalizer for processing, and directly display the standard instantaneous volume flow rate and the standard volume total. Gas turbine flowmeter due to its principle, turbine high-speed rotation, mechanical friction between the bearing and the shaft, life is not very long, so attention should be paid to lubrication, you can use the lubrication means provided by the manufacturer, regular replenishment of lubricating oil. Before the flowmeter is put into operation, it should be carried out in strict accordance with the steps, the steps of operation: if the measuring circuit is equipped with a bypass valve; it should first open the bypass valve, and then open the upstream shut-off valve, and then slowly open the downstream shut-off valve, and finally slowly close the bypass valve; if the measuring circuit is not equipped with a bypass valve, it should first open the upstream shut-off valve, and then slowly open the downstream shut-off valve, so as to prevent damage of the turbine by the impact of high-speed gas flow.
