Principle and installation of 80G radar level meter

Radar level meter is 80GHz high frequency intelligent level measurement instrument, output (4~20) mA analog signal, range distance up to 120 meters.


  (1) Introduction to 80G radar level meter

  The radar level meter is an 80GHz high-frequency intelligent level measuring instrument that outputs (4~20)mA analog signals and has a range of up to 120 meters. The wireless is further optimized, and the new fast microprocessor can perform higher-speed signal analysis and processing, allowing the instrument to be used in very complex working conditions such as process tanks, reactors or solid silos.

  (2) Principle of 80G radar level meter

  The radar level meter transmits a frequency modulated continuous wave. The principle is to transmit a signal with a continuously changing frequency. The echo reflected by the object has a certain frequency difference with the transmitted signal. By measuring the frequency difference, the distance information between the target and the radar can be obtained. The real position of the target can be obtained by amplifying, down-converting, filtering and processing the signal received at the receiving end.

  (3) Features of 80G radar level meter

  The radar level meter uses a transmission frequency of up to 80GHz and has the following characteristics: · Non-contact measurement, no wear and no pollution; · Small antenna size, easy to install; · Shorter wavelength, better reflection on inclined solid surfaces; · Smaller measurement blind area, good effect for small tank measurements; · Small beam angle and concentrated energy, which enhances the echo capability and helps to avoid interference; · Almost unaffected by corrosion and foam; · Almost unaffected by water vapor, temperature and pressure changes in the atmosphere; · The instrument can accurately read the true level echo in severe dust environments; · High signal-to-noise ratio, better performance even in fluctuating conditions; · 80GHz frequency is a better choice for measuring solids and low dielectric constant media, and is suitable for material working condition measurements with a dielectric constant of ≥1.8.

  (4) Installation location of 80G radar level meter

  Installed at 1/6 or 1/4 of the tank diameter, depending on the tank diameter, with a minimum distance from the tank wall of ≥200mm or ≥400mm. 1. For the top plane of a conical tank, it can be installed in the middle of the top to ensure that the bottom of the cone can be measured. 2. When there is a stirring paddle in the tank that interferes with the radar measurement, if the stirring paddle cannot be avoided, false echo storage is required to eliminate the interference signal generated by the false wave.

  (5) 80G radar level meter container pipe

  Height requirement of the pipe: If the reflectivity of the measured medium is good, the pipe of the container can be longer than the antenna length. The standard length of the pipe of the container is shown in the table below. The end must be ground flat and there must be no burrs or other protrusions. If necessary, use the "false echo storage" function to eliminate the reflection at the end of the smaller pipe, which can also achieve better measurement results.

  (6) 80G radar level meter reflection angle and false reflection
