1. Analysis of blind spots of radar level gauge:
1. There will be some blind spots at the bottom of the object being measured: This blind spot refers to a distance near the bottom where it is impossible to measure accurate data. Only after leaving this distance can the data in subsequent measurements be accurate.
2. There will be a certain blind area on the top of the object being measured: During the measurement process, the short distance between the high material surface and the reference point used in the measurement requires you to select a position to measure in order to make the measurement more accurate.
3. There must be a certain distance between the blind area at the top and the bottom of the radar level gauge, and this distance is the distance that is truly suitable for measurement. However, it is necessary to find this distance accurately before measuring, so that the measurement result can be more accurate.
2. How to detect the failure of radar level meter to measure liquid level:
1. Check whether the power supply is normal.
2. Check whether the communication is normal. Through the laptop computer with radar debugging software installed and FBM (two-way modulator/demodulator) connected to FCU2160 (field communication unit), all radar data, transmission wave, reflection wave intensity, and radar configuration data can be read on the operation interface. If it cannot be read, there is a problem with the communication. You can also take these devices to the radar head to connect the signal line to determine the fault. This treatment can eliminate the fault of the signal line.
3. If there are pipes or brackets at the bottom of the tank, they will diffusely reflect the radar wave. Therefore, when there is no liquid level or the liquid level is low, the display is abnormal. After the process liquid level is normal, restart it and it will display. When the process oil is fed, if steam is generated, diffuse reflection will also be formed, causing the liquid level to fail. It will automatically recover after the temperature returns to normal.
4. For lightly contaminated oil tanks, give priority to the possibility of antenna crystallization and contamination. After power off, lift the radar and tilt it down. Be careful to handle it with care so as not to damage the antenna; wipe off the crystallization or oil with a rag, do not bend the antenna, and avoid scratching it with iron tools to avoid damaging the antenna surface.
5. If it still cannot be restored to normal, you can replace it with a good radar board or even the baseboard or antenna. Before replacing, make a mark and turn off the power. After powering on and performing necessary configuration, you can test to determine which board has a problem.
