Guided wave radar level meter is a kind of liquid level measurement equipment commonly used in industrial control system, which can accurately measure the liquid level height in pipelines and vessels according to the non-contact measurement method. However, if the guided wave radar level meter is not installed properly, a series of problems will occur, such as inaccurate level measurement, equipment damage, etc., thus affecting production efficiency and safety.
In this article, we will discuss the problem of improper installation of guided wave radar level meter and illustrate it with two real cases. What problems are caused by improper installation of guided wave radar level meter?
If a radar level meter is not installed properly, it can affect its measurement accuracy and stability. For example, if the installation position is improper, the angle is incorrect or the blockage is clogged, measurement errors will occur. If the level meter can not accurately measure the level level in the container, it will cause reduced productivity and production safety hazards. Secondly, if the equipment is damaged, the radar level meter can not be used in all environments, such as improper installation or improper cooperation with other equipment will only result in equipment damage. For example, improper fixing of the guide may lead to equipment damage.
Case 1: A chemical company uses radar level meters to measure liquid chlorine tanks. The radar level gauge in the liquid chlorine tank was not working properly, resulting in a drop in productivity. After investigation, it was found that the problem was caused by improper installation of the level meter. The cable wiring of the level meter was not suitable for the environment and got stuck during use, causing the equipment to wobble and the radar level meter to be damaged. To solve the problem, the cable wiring was rearranged and the equipment was commissioned and maintained. Subsequently, the radar level meter resumed normal operation and accurate level measurement knots were obtained.
Case 2: In a power company, it was found that the problem of overheating of the unit came from the radar level gauge not reading accurately. Upon inspection, it was found that the radar level gauge was installed in a location that did not work well with the equipment, resulting in inaccurate readings. The radar level gauge was reinstalled in a location that worked well with the equipment, and the equipment was adjusted and optimized in detail. Thereafter, the radar level meter accurately measured the liquid level height and kept the unit in good working condition, thus improving the productivity of the power company. Correct installation is a prerequisite for the use of guided wave radar level meter, and improper installation will lead to problems such as loss of accuracy and damage.
Through the actual case examination, it can be seen that improper installation of equipment is one of the important factors of the guided wave radar level meter working abnormally. Therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation and service life of the equipment, we must pay attention to the installation of the equipment, especially the installation and commissioning of key equipment.
