There are many types of level meters, radar level meter is one of them, which can be used to measure various liquid media.
Today, let Supmea introduce you to radar level meters and how to choose the right radar level meter. Radar level meter is a general-purpose radar level meter. It is a measuring instrument based on the time travel principle. Radar waves run at the speed of light, and the running time can be converted into a level signal through electronic components. The probe emits a high-frequency pulse that propagates at the speed of light in space. When the pulse encounters the surface of the material, it is reflected back and received by the receiver in the meter, and the distance signal is converted into a level signal.
Intelligent radar level meter is suitable for non-contact continuous measurement of the level of liquid, slurry and granular materials. It is suitable for occasions with large temperature and pressure changes and the presence of inert gas and volatility.
How to choose radar level meter
1. Usually in some dusty solid particles, powders and sticky liquid working conditions, it is generally recommended to use guided wave radar level meter.
2. According to the detection range, the maximum detection distance of the contact rod radar level meter is 6 meters, and most of them can only achieve a range of 2 or 3 meters. The maximum detection distance of the contact cable guided wave level meter is 30 meters, and most of them recommend a detection range of about 10 meters. If the detection range is too large, it is recommended to use a pulse radar level meter.
3. Of course, there are other issues to consider. For example, it is recommended to install an accessory radiator under high temperature conditions, select the thickness of the flange based on the pressure parameters in the working conditions, and whether it needs to be explosion-proof and anti-corrosion, and whether there are obstacles inside the tank. These problems need to be resolved.
Advantages and applications of radar level meter
1. Radar level meter can measure liquid and solid media such as crude oil, slurry, raw coal, pulverized coal, volatile liquids, etc.;
2. It can measure all media with dielectric constant > 1.2 in vacuum, and the measuring range can reach 70m;
3. Power supply and output signal are through a two-core cable (loop circuit), using 4~20mA output or digital signal output;
4. Non-contact measurement is easy to install and made of extremely stable materials, strong and durable, accurate and reliable, with a resolution of up to 1mm;
5. Not affected by noise, steam, dust, vacuum and other working conditions;
6. Unaffected by changes in medium density and temperature, the process pressure can reach 400 bar, and the medium temperature can reach -200℃ to 800℃;
7. There are many installation methods to choose from: top installation, side installation, bypass pipe installation, waveguide installation;
8. There are many ways to choose from for debugging: programming module debugging (equivalent to an analysis and processing instrument), SOFT software debugging, and HART handheld programmer debugging. Debugging is convenient and fast.
How about radar level meter? After reading the above content, I believe everyone has a preliminary understanding of it. There are many ways to install radar level meter, and everyone can try it.
