Since the only parts of the electromagnetic flowmeter that are in contact with the medium are the electrodes and the inside of the measuring tube, it is necessary to select the correct electrode and lining materials according to the characteristics of different media.
1. The electrode materials are divided into the following types:
1. Stainless steel (0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti). Suitable for nitric acid, sulfuric acid less than 5% at room temperature, boiling phosphoric acid, formic acid, alkali solution, sulfurous acid, seawater and acetic acid under certain pressure. 2. Hastelloy B, Hastelloy C. Can be used in sea water and salt water. 3. Titanium. Suitable for seawater, various chlorides and hypochlorite hydrochloric acid, oxidizing acids (including fuming nitric acid), organic acids, alkali, etc. 4. Tantalum. Except for fuming sulfuric acid and alkali, other chemical media including boiling point hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and <175℃ sulfuric acid can be used. 5. Platinum. Can be used for various acids, alkalis, and salts, but does not include aqua regia.
2. How to accurately select the lining material. The lining material should be selected based on the aggressiveness, abrasion and temperature of the medium being measured.
1. Rubber. It has excellent elasticity, high tearing force, good wear resistance, and is resistant to erosion by general weak acids and alkalis. It can measure water, sewage, mud and mineral slurry, etc. 2. Polyurethane. It has excellent wear resistance, poor acid and alkali resistance, and can measure coal slurry, mud and mineral slurry with neutral and strong wear. 3. Polytetrafluoroethylene. It is resistant to boiling hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, concentrated alkali and various organic solvents. It has good wear resistance but poor bonding performance.
