Electromagnetic flow meter consists of two main parts: electromagnetic flow sensor and electromagnetic flow converter. The main components are the measuring tube, electrode, excitation coil, iron core and yoke, shell. The measuring tube of the sensor is a short non-conductive alloy tube lined with insulating material.
In addition to measuring the volume flow of general conductive liquids, electromagnetic flowmeters can also be used to measure the volume flow of highly corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis and uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspensions such as mud, ore pulp, and paper pulp. It is widely used in flow measurement in industrial sectors such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, textile, papermaking, environmental protection, food, municipal management, water conservancy construction, river dredging, etc. It is a high-precision, high-reliability and long-life flow meter. The measured fluid should not contain more ferromagnetic substances or bubbles. The corresponding pressure level, lining material, electrode material and instrument structure should be selected according to the temperature, pressure, corrosiveness, abrasiveness and other characteristics of the measured fluid.
The electromagnetic flowmeter is based on the national standard GB4208-84 and the International Electrotechnical Commission standard IEC529-76 on the protection level of electrical and electrical product enclosures. The standards are as follows: A. IP65: It is a water-proof type. The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor housing allows the faucet to spray water on the sensor from any direction of the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor. The pressure of the water spray is 30Kpa, the water output is 12.5L/S, and the distance is 3 meters. B. IP67: The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor can be used to be immersed in water for a short period of time. C. IP68: It is a submersible type, suitable for long-term work in water or underground under a certain pressure. At this time, the sensor of the electromagnetic flowmeter is separated from the display part, and it must be made into a split electromagnetic flowmeter, but the protection level requirements of the electromagnetic flowmeter must be emphasized.
In general , the protection level should be selected according to the actual situation. If the sensor is installed above the ground, IP65 and IP67 should be selected. If the sensor is required to be installed below the ground and is often flooded, IP68 should be selected. In any case, the display part of the electromagnetic flowmeter cannot be used with water or enter the water, which will cause damage to the electromagnetic flowmeter.
