Electromagnetic flowmeter is a new type of flow measurement instrument that developed rapidly with the development of electronic technology in the 1950s and 1960s. The electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument that applies the principle of electromagnetic induction to measure the flow rate of conductive fluid based on the electromotive force induced when the conductive fluid passes through an external magnetic field.
1. Strong magnetic field. Because it is generally noted to stay away from strong magnetic fields during installation, there is not much practical experience on the effects of strong magnetic fields.
2. Strong electromagnetic waves: The electromagnetic flowmeter should comply with electromagnetic compatibility requirements and work normally in the specified radiated electromagnetic field environment. It will not cause the performance of the instrument to degrade or work abnormally in this environment. When a separate electromagnetic flowmeter has large common-mode interference on site, the possibility of strong radio waves becoming a source of interference should be considered when analyzing the cause of the failure. This instance is a rare fault during the debugging period.
3. Stray current in pipelines When the electromagnetic flowmeter is properly grounded, the influence of most stray currents in pipelines can be avoided. Sometimes thick wires are used to connect the flow sensor across the flow sensor and to be well grounded according to regulations, but it is still affected by stray current and other measures need to be taken.
4. Changes in ground potential. Changes in ground potential will affect flow measurement. For example, a voltage drop on the ground line of other equipment can cause the ground potential of the electromagnetic flowmeter to change. If large common mode interference is formed, it may affect the measurement.
5. Moisture immersion: When electromagnetic flowmeters are used in the water supply and drainage industry, the flow sensor is often placed in an instrument well below the horizon. Therefore, it is often immersed in rainwater that is not discharged in time, or even immersed in water for a long time. Even if the enclosure protection level is IP67 (dust-tight, short-term water immersion level) or IP68 (dust-tight, continuous water immersion level), the sealing gasket of the terminal box cover or the cable entry sealing ferrule is not tightly sealed, and the ferrule is missing.
Or the ferrule does not match the outer diameter of the cable, and this type of accident often occurs.
