Wastewater electromagnetic flowmeter is a common flow measurement instrument, which is widely used in industry, urban sewage treatment, tap water and other fields. This article will introduce the working principle, characteristics, applications and related precautions of wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flow meters.

1. Working principle

Wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flow meters use Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction to determine the flow rate by measuring the voltage signal generated when the liquid passes through the pipeline. The specific process is as follows:

When the conductive liquid flows through the measuring tube inside the electromagnetic flowmeter, a magnetic field perpendicular to the flow direction will be generated. At this time, the charged particles in the fluid are deflected by the force of the magnetic field, forming an electric potential difference in the liquid. At the same time, two electrodes are introduced, respectively located on both sides of the measuring tube, to measure the potential difference in the liquid. Because the potential difference is proportional to the liquid flow rate, the liquid flow rate can be determined by the magnitude of the potential difference.

2. Features

1. Non-contact measurement: Wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flow meters do not need to be in direct contact with the fluid, which can avoid damage to the pipe or fluid during the measurement process.

2. High accuracy: The measurement accuracy of electromagnetic flowmeter is relatively high, usually within plus or minus 0.5%.

3. Wide scope of application: Wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flow meters can measure various components in liquids and are not affected by color, temperature, viscosity and other factors.

4. Simple maintenance: The structure of the electromagnetic flowmeter is relatively simple and the maintenance is also relatively convenient.

3. Application

Wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flow meters are widely used in industrial production, urban sewage treatment, tap water supply and other fields. Its main function is to monitor and control the flow of fluid to ensure the stable and safe production process.

In the industrial field, wastewater electromagnetic flowmeters can be used to measure flow in chemical industry, petrochemical industry, food and beverage, papermaking and other industries to ensure the stability and safety of the production process. In terms of urban sewage treatment and tap water supply, it can help monitor and regulate the flow of liquids in pipelines, ensure water quality safety, and avoid safety accidents such as pipeline bursts.

IV. Precautions

1. The installation location of the wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flowmeter should avoid the influence of pipe bends, valves, etc. on the flow measurement as much as possible.

2. Wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flowmeters should be calibrated and inspected regularly to ensure measurement accuracy and stability.

3. Wastewater and sewage electromagnetic flow meters are suitable for measuring conductive liquids, but are not suitable for non-conductive liquids such as oil.

4. When using electromagnetic flowmeters for wastewater and sewage, attention should be paid to protective measures to avoid electric shock or other safety accidents.
