Electromagnetic flowmeter electrode daily maintenance methods

2025-01-20

As an instrument for measuring fluids, electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, and medicine, electric power and other industries.

Daily maintenance methods of electromagnetic flowmeter electrodes

1. Routine maintenance and upkeep

As an instrument for measuring fluids, electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, and medicine, electric power and other industries. However, during use, due to many factors, it is easy to cause instrument failure or even damage. Therefore, it is necessary to understand how to maintain and maintain it.

2. Check the loss of lining and electrodes

The degree of wear of electromagnetic flowmeter electrodes can be seen from several aspects:

(1) Check the electrodes Whether there are pits or unevenness on the surface.

(2) Check whether there is a solid-liquid coupling layer on the electrode surface. This layer may appear due to conductivity issues or mismatched coupling between the electrode material and the fluid, which may require cleaning.

(3) Check whether there is scaling on the inner wall of the electrode. The cause of scaling is likely to be that the electrode has been used for too long, resulting in a decrease in the conductivity of the measurement solution and an increase in adhering substances to the inner wall. At this time, the electrode needs to be cleaned.

(4) Check whether there are bubbles on the inner wall of the electrode. The reason for this situation may be that the gas was not exhausted during the working mode conversion process, resulting in gas accumulation on the inner wall of the electrode. At this time, the electrode needs to be cleaned.

(5) Check whether there is any "tumor-like" material on the electrode head. This situation is caused by the two electrodes being in contact with non-conductive substances at the same time. At this time, we should clean or polish the electrodes.

3. Check the sealing performance of the electrode and lining

The sealing performance of the electromagnetic flowmeter electrode and lining directly affects the working performance of the instrument, so it needs to be checked regularly. It can be checked from the following aspects:

(1) Check the sealing condition of the connecting flanges of the electromagnetic flowmeter to see if there is any leakage. If so, the sealing gasket should be replaced in time or other corresponding measures should be taken.

(2) Check the insulation condition of the electromagnetic flowmeter excitation coil to see if it is damp or damaged. If it gets damp or damaged, it should be dried or repaired in time.

(3) Check whether there is leakage in the internal pipe lining of the electromagnetic flowmeter. If there is leakage, the lining material should be repaired or replaced in time.

4. Cleaning and maintenance of electromagnetic flowmeter

In order to ensure the accuracy and stability of the electromagnetic flowmeter, it needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly. The specific steps are as follows:

(1) Remove the front panel and shell of the electromagnetic flowmeter, and scrub each component with solvents such as gasoline or alcohol. Pay attention to protecting the precision parts of each component, such as the sensor and the inner wall of the measuring tube.

(2) Use a soft cloth or cotton to clean the dust and dirt on the outside of the instrument. Be careful not to use corrosive liquids such as phenol to avoid damage to the instrument.

(3) Use a clean soft cloth or cotton dipped in a small amount of alcohol to wipe the inside of the meter. Be careful not to let the alcohol flow into the sensor part.

(4) Use a hair dryer to dry the wiped parts. Be careful not to use hot air to avoid damage to the instrument.

(5) Check whether all parts of the electromagnetic flowmeter are rusted or damaged, and replace or repair them in time if necessary.

(6) Install the front panel and shell of the electromagnetic flowmeter, and perform debugging and calibration according to the instructions.

Through the above daily maintenance and maintenance methods, the service life of the electromagnetic flowmeter can be effectively extended and its stability and accuracy can be improved. During daily use, attention should also be paid to avoiding violent vibrations and preventing corrosive liquids and gases from contacting the instrument to ensure the normal operation of the electromagnetic flowmeter.
