What pipe sizes are thermal mass flow meters suitable for?

2025-01-21

Thermal mass flow meters are suitable for measuring pipes from capillary tubes to large diameters and square tubes up to 9 m in diameter.

Its range ratio is very wide, some can reach 1000:1; the pressure loss is very small and can be ignored. The part of the flow meter in contact with the medium can be made of various materials, such as stainless steel, Hastelloy, Monel, etc., so it can resist corrosion. Its temperature measurement range and pressure resistance range are very wide. For example, the liquid temperature can reach 200°C, and the gas temperature can reach 850°C. It is especially suitable for measuring high-temperature flue gases, and the maximum pressure resistance can reach 70MPa. The anti-overload capability is also very strong. When the actual flow rate is higher than the full-scale flow range, it will not cause any damage to the instrument.

When the thermal mass flowmeter is used for low flow measurement, it can be used for flow rates as low as 20ml/d. When used for high-speed gas flow measurement, the gas flow rate can reach up to 480m/s. The entire flowmeter has no moving parts, which can avoid wear, breakage and fatigue cracks caused by rotation, movement or vibration. The measurement accuracy can generally reach 1% of the reading, and the repeatability is 0.5% of the reading. Instantaneous flow or cumulative flow display can be selected, and there are high and low alarm contact outputs.

The above is the thermal mass flow meter manufacturer's sharing of "Which pipes are thermal mass flow meters suitable for". Thank you for watching. If you have any questions, you can consult online or leave us a message. We will answer you wholeheartedly.
