Vortex flowmeter is suitable for measuring the volume and mass flow of liquids, gases and steam. It has the characteristics of small pressure loss, large range and high accuracy.

Vortex flow meters are suitable for a variety of media types, including liquids, gases and steam. ‌

Vortex flowmeter is a kind of volume flowmeter, which is developed and produced according to the Karman vortex principle. It is used to measure the volume flow rate of gas, steam or liquid, the volume flow rate or mass flow rate of standard conditions. . It has a wide range of applications, including but not limited to the following media types:

Liquids: water, oil, fuel, chemical solutions, alcohol, acid-base solutions and other liquid media.

Gas: Air, nitrogen, oxygen, natural gas, coal gas, hydrogen, gas mixtures and other gas media.

Steam: saturated steam, superheated steam and other steam media.

The characteristics of vortex flow meters include small pressure loss, large measuring range, high accuracy, and are almost unaffected by fluid density, pressure, temperature, viscosity and other parameters. Since it has no moving mechanical parts, it has high reliability, low maintenance, and long-term stability of instrument parameters. In addition, the vortex flowmeter uses a piezoelectric stress sensor, which can work in the operating temperature range of -20°C to +250°C. The output functions include 4-20mA, 0-10V and other signals, and the power supply voltage can be DC24V, AC220V. It is easy to be used with digital systems such as computers and is a relatively advanced and ideal measuring instrument.

Although vortex flowmeters have good adaptability to a variety of media, the characteristics of the medium and the measurement environment still need to be considered when selecting and using them. For example, vortex flow meters may not be suitable for use with fluids containing a lot of solid particles or suspended solids, or media with excessive kinematic viscosity under working conditions (such as some high-viscosity oils). In addition, the vortex flowmeter is not suitable for measuring pulsating flow. If there are power mechanical equipment that generates strong pulsation in the pipeline system, measurement errors may occur. Therefore, correct selection and use are crucial to ensure the performance and measurement accuracy of the vortex flowmeter.
