Introduction to the correct selection of electromagnetic flowmeter - Lisheng Measurement and Control
Electromagnetic flowmeter consists of two parts: sensor and converter. It works based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volume flow of conductive liquids with a conductivity greater than 5 μS/cm. It is an inductive instrument that measures the volume flow of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volume flow of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volume flow of highly corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis, and uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspension liquids such as mud, pulp, and paper pulp. The following is an introduction to electromagnetic flowmeters:
The selection of instruments is a very important task in instrument applications. Relevant data shows that 2/3 of the faults of instruments in practical applications are caused by incorrect selection of instruments or Caused by incorrect installation, please pay special attention.
Collect data
1. Tested fluid composition
2. Large flow rate and small flow rate
3. High working pressure
4. High temperature, low temperature
The measured fluid must have a certain conductivity, conductivity >5μS/CM
Large flow and small flow must Comply with the numbers in the table below
◆The actual high working pressure must be less than the rated working pressure of the flow meter.
◆The high operating temperature and low temperature must comply with the temperature requirements specified by the flow meter.
◆Determine whether there is negative pressure.
You can select the corresponding electromagnetic flowmeter based on the flow rate in the above table. If the inner diameter of the selected electromagnetic flowmeter does not match the inner diameter of the current process pipeline, the pipe should be reduced or expanded.
◆If the pipeline is shrunk, it should be considered whether the pressure loss caused by the shrinkage will affect the process flow.
◆Considering the product price, you can choose an electromagnetic flowmeter with a smaller diameter, which will reduce investment relatively.
◆When measuring clean water, the economical flow rate is 1.5-3m/s. When measuring solutions that are prone to crystallization, the flow rate should be increased appropriately, 3-4m/s is appropriate, which can self-clean and prevent sticking. Attached sedimentation and other effects; measuring ore slurry, etc.
◆When consuming fluid, the flow rate should be appropriately reduced, preferably 1.0-2m/s, to reduce wear on the lining and electrodes. Practical applications rarely exceed 7m/s, and exceeding 10m/s is even rarer.
The electromagnetic flowmeter is specially designed with a Chinese LCD display with backlight and wide temperature range. It is fully functional and practical, with intuitive display and easy operation. It can reduce the inconvenience caused by the English menu of other electromagnetic flowmeters. The electromagnetic flowmeter is also designed with a 4-6 multi-electrode structure, which further ensures measurement accuracy and eliminates the need for a grounding ring at any time, reducing the size of the instrument and the trouble of installation and maintenance.
